The idea for POSTGAME’s products started in February 2009, when I was out shopping for shampoo and body wash with my then 7 and 11 year-old sons. We struggled with our options that day, as we were faced with products heavily laced with strong cologne and sexual advertising, next to products aimed at much younger kids. I realized that there was just nothing available that had the “cool” factor my boys wanted and the effective clean, combined with an age appropriate scent/message, that I wanted for them.

I recognized that I wasn’t alone and that other parents of young athletes must face the same issue. So, the idea was born; why not create a salon quality, personal care product line centered around sports? What could be more positive than the dedicated work ethic and fair competition that sports promote? That’s when I set out to create the high quality product line that POSTGAME offers today.

As a life-long athlete myself, I have a first-hand understanding of the irritation that multiple showers per day can dish out. The amount of water, especially hot water, that an athletes skin is exposed to through repeated showers can be very detrimental, particularly when using the wrong products. I knew I wanted all POSTGAME products to include a significant amount of conditioner and lotion, to ensure proper hydration, even with repeated daily use.

During the development phase, I spent a significant amount of time researching the safety of ingredients used in shampoos and body cleansing products. I discovered many respected publications that linked sulfates, parabens and phthalates to everything from minor reactions like skin allergies and eczema to such major concerns as cancer and birth defects! My conclusion was simple; POSTGAME products would be much better off without those chemicals. I invested extra time, money and research to create great products, without any of those chemicals in the formulations. In the end, I’m proud to say that all POSTGAME products are sulfate, paraben and phthalate free.

Additionally, it was very important to me that POSTGAME should not leave a cloud of heavy, cologne fragrance behind after a shower. I developed our sport-fresh scent to be subtle, but appealing. Most of all, POSTGAME just leaves you smelling fresh and clean, which is appropriate for all ages! Indeed, POSTGAME products have now become the personal care products of choice for athletes of all ages, from the rec leagues to the professionals!

We give you our word that we will continue to uphold the quality of our products and the positive message they deliver as POSTGAME continues to grow. We monitor the ongoing ingredient safety research and will create all our products in line with the same high standards we have for our own children who, along with their teammates, are daily users of POSTGAME.
